Lithotherapy, from yesterday to today
Whether they are powder pink, sea green, azure blue, flamboyant orange or even scarlet red, the beauty of each stone has something mystical.
Originating from ancestral spiritual beliefs and customs, they have nevertheless managed to stand the test of time.
The origin of stones
A long time ago, around 13.7 billion years, the Universe appeared in a sudden cataclysmic explosion, ready to frighten anyone who would listen with its own voice: “BING”, “BANG”!
When the Universe realized that its only response was the echo of its own voice, it decided to concentrate on itself in the greatest silence and to maintain the powerful feeling that was born from its insides: love unconditional.
He then began to feel very alone and stretched out his immense arms to welcome anyone who would like to make their nest there.
It was then that a vast cloud of gas and dust began to swirl within it to form an immense ball of fire which took the name “Sun”. Small clusters of rocks began to gravitate around the sun, forming whirlwinds ready to collide. Under these shocks, small explosions heated these pebbles which clumped together and gave way to immense planets, including our planet Earth.
From then on, a multitude of tiny crystals inhabited the Earth. These stones, shaped by time, finally found themselves in the hands of the first inhabitants who did not take long to discover their inestimable value. Depending on their origin, their size, their color and even their vibration, they possess powers.
And, long before erecting them into temples or statues, women and men wore them around their necks or wrists for their physical, psychological and spiritual virtues. Whether it is strength, serenity, luck or even fertility, this was the birth of lithotherapy, which did not yet have a name, but which has survived into our modern era.
The stones, original and original
The word lithotherapy comes from the Greek Lithos which means “stone” and Therapeia which means “therapy”. It is a therapeutic method which indeed consists of healing using stones and crystals.
Over the centuries, all civilizations can bear witness to this. While in the West, red jasper was used as a stimulant and tonic and in the East, antimony was recommended against infectious diseases, the American Indians knew that copper was a powerful antiseptic.
Stones were used, and still are, in matters such as science and medicine, in the form of powders and elixirs for example.
“The stones are part of the path”
Romanian proverb
Every human being, every animal, every tiny piece of stone comes from the cradle of the Universe, cradled by unconditional love and is intrinsically connected to what surrounds it.
Since the dawn of time, lithotherapy has been part of holistic energy therapies which are renowned for promoting balance in the body. And everyone is free today to find benefits that a thousand-year-old experience has been able to bring to light.
