Hello, I’m Maria Elisabeth

Creator of Ovie Bijoux, a lover of nature and simple things, I now live in Essipit, on Quebec’s North Shore.

Yet, nothing destined me for this life. Born and raised in Montreal in a family of Portuguese origin, I lived for a long time at the rhythm of the big city before life led me to a place that would profoundly mark my journey.

My husband is from the Innu community of Essipit. Over the years spent with him, I discovered the North Shore, its magnificent landscapes, its different pace, and the deep connection with nature that characterizes the region.

For him, returning to live in Essipit was a homecoming. For me, it was love at first sight.

A few years ago, we chose to build our life there.

A deeply human journey

Before embarking on my entrepreneurial adventure, I dedicated more than twenty-five years of my life to the healthcare field.

This career allowed me to support people at different stages of their lives and taught me listening, kindness, and the importance of small gestures that make a difference.

These values continue to influence my way of creating and connecting with people today.

When creativity finds its place

I have always loved creating with my hands.

Over time, fine gemstones have taken a special place in my world. I love their colors, their textures, and the fact that no two are exactly alike.

What started as a hobby gradually became a passion, then a project that grew naturally to become Ovie Bijoux.

A life inspired by nature

Today, nature is part of my daily life.

The river, the forests, the seasons, and the landscapes of the North Shore nourish my inspiration and invite me each day to slow down a little. I love walks in nature, simple moments, and time spent with those dear to me, including Laura, my faithful four-legged companion.

Through my creations, I like to convey this softness, this simplicity, and this attention to the small things that make life beautiful.
