Characteristics and origin

Unakite is a rock recognizable by its mix of green and pink. It generally combines epidote, feldspar and quartz in irregular patterns.

It owes its name to the Unaka Mountains in the southeastern United States, where it was first described. Each fragment displays a different proportion and distribution of colors.

Traditional symbolism

Its contrasting colors have inspired symbolic associations with:
